Autistic, Artistic

This piece is a collaboration that I did with kids from the Marcus Institute (http://www.marcus.org/index.html) for the "Autistic, Artistic" show next Friday at the Krause Gallery here in Atlanta.
It will be sold in a silent auction and all the proceeds will go to the Institute. The piece itself is 2 feet by 4 feet on wood.

Nice! What's the concept behind it?

Thanks! It really was all about reacting to what the kids laid down. When I went to the classroom I just laid the box on the table and each kid did what they wanted.A lot just did random marks, one kid drew the car and another drew the moon. My part was done days later when the kids had finished. Adding more color, adding "the driver" as well as bringing out things like the car and moon.

Their ages varied between 5 years to 19. Their disabilities did as well, not just autistic.
