"marea" the small version

So the past 2 weeks I've been blasting my engines constanly making new pieces. I found a new direction more like an evolution of my work, at least I think so. It started one way and now and I'm constantly refining, making it more coherent, pushing it, etc. Very exciting. It is not only a stylistic evolution but a conceptual one as well. Taking some of the old and mixing it with something new, after all that is what it is all about.

This piece was done last night, at least finished last night. It isn't very big, my work usually isn't but that is changing as well. Now, the other version of this is 22"x30" not as dark, colorwise. I don't want to say that this one is a study because it was done after the bigger version. It is just a smaller continuation of it.

I always wanted to write on my pieces but for some reason never did. Guess it was never the right time. As soon as I get a pic of the other one I'll post it. I also made 2 that are 24" by 48" on masonite and a few more at 22" by 30".

new

Here are some drawings that I did. Having fun, evolving, refining, ect.
The one of Rebecca was done about a month ago.

beginning of something new...

Very different from my usual but it feels like a heading. Still too early to tell and there is refinement to be done. This is around the 3rd piece that I've done this way but by now the biggest. It is ink on canvas, 36"x48".
